So why “monday” and the rest of the week?

I prefer the short form to the long form.the sound of words moving on a page. What is the short form — where the prose is condensed, the ideas are explicit and implicit. Where the unnecessary is removed. Words, sentences, punctuation. Cut. Where the unnecessary may appear somewhere sometime else. Where quotations and plagiarism are essential. Where a phrase taken from a text at random is transformed ‘slavonic dances’ has many meanings, not infinite but finite. The accepted difference between short-form and long-form content makes little sense, the general distinction is as follows Short-form content is any content that’s easy to consume. The exact length can vary, but written short-form content is often under 1,000 words whereas long-form content covers a topic in greater detail and is typically over 2,000 words. This type of content isn’t usually intended to be rapidly consumed. And is often thought of as intending to educate and inform those looking to learn more about a topic. In literature long-form tends towards being a piece of writing or entertainment that is longer than usual and detailed. Where short forms are often called contractions, abbreviations, vignettes. Our practices contradict themselves as well. Never have we had so many means, but. to our aggrieved shame, never have we had so few projects either. The gap between what we could do and what we in fact do with them characterises our time of omnipotent impotence. We master the atom in order to set obedient police officers against protests by spoilt children. An ingenius wealth of electronics allows us to exchange moronic messages. Reversing this relation, our fathers crossed the seas on board fragile frigates, and more distant ancestors forced their way across the Bering strait on foot: for giant projects. (Serres )
