and are finally quiet; the concrete mixers and lorries in front of the house next door, the workers have stopped speaking, singing and wheezing; they appeared so efficient but never go home, never leave. There white vans have left, they have cast iron constitutions, they wear blue hats, the close is emptying of workers cars. And you can simply ignore them because its saturday night now and as expected they have left ll the lights , and they’ll not return until monday morning at 8 am. a walk in the dark would be peaceful. Why you ask? because my elderly neighbour died and the new people have unleashed their consumptive vices on the world…
